Step by Step Beads Corrections and Supply
Tips

May/June 2009
Carrie Kilgore, as seen in this issue’s Mother/daughter gallery, has
a new web site: http://ckoriginals.artfire.com.
OOPS! The correct URL for the Vintaj filigree components in this issue's
"Layers" necklace on page 41 should read: www.vintaj.com.
We apologize for any confusion. --Ed

Reader Feedback: Celtic Flags
As a regular English reader, I felt I had to write to you about some inaccuracies
in your Celtic Flags patterns article.
Firstly - England is not a Celtic country (although I will add that Kernow aka
Cornwall, one English county has Celtic heritage).
Secondly - the Union Jack is not the English flag as the article implies in its
title, it is the flag of Great Britain & Northern Ireland, i.e the UK.
The English flag is the St George's Cross, clearly seen as one component of the
Union Jack.
Thirdly - the St Andrew's Flag–– the Scottish Flag–– is
not teal as your colour key indicates, it is a most definite blue (although in
the photo of the completed cuff it does indeed look blue).
I trust that you will not take offence at this email, but I am sure you will appreciate
we are all proud of our own heritage and mine is not Celtic!
Best regards
Karen Kenny

HELP FOR "BUMPS IN THE ROAD," November/December 07 page 22:
There is only one row of 5 crystals or large seed beads in the middle of each
bump, not 10 as shown in the illustration. The text and list of What You Need
are correct, only the illustration is incorrect. To have dimensional bumps, pull
your thread taut between every stitch. If tension is loose, your cuff will lay
flat. (Some of us like ours this way!)
