2004 Bead Arts Awards

Visual Impact. Originality. Design. Craft. These are the criteria used to select our annual Bead Arts Award winners. As in previous contests, this year's submissions amazed and inspired us, and we thank our illustrious judges for what was surely a challenging task.

Read more about our panel of judges - David Chatt, Alice Korach and Nancy Tobey - and find out how to enter next year's contests online at www.lapidaryjournal.com/contest.

Forms and information are available for The Bead Arts Awards, The Jewelry Arts Awards, and The Gemmys.
We're very proud to present the top 2005 Bead Arts Award winners, and offer our congratulations to all who entered for reaching towards the highest levels of creativity and technical expertise.

Step by Step Beads

Entrants submitted pieces in seven categories - "Clay" Bead (including metal and polymer clays, or other moldable products), Glass Bead, Other/Mixed Media Bead, Bead Bracelet, Bead Necklace, Other Bead Jewelry, and Beaded Object, which included both functional (other than jewelry) and nonfunctional objects. A separate Best of Competition piece was chosen as well. Pieces were judged by an independent panel of judges (see "Our Esteemed Judges") on the basis of excellence in design, visual appeal and impact, originality, and execution.

More work by our winning bead artists is featured in the Lapidary Journal Designer Gallery section!

To enter the 2006 Bead Arts Awards, 2006 entry forms can be found online online. Maybe next September, your design will be gracing our cover!
